The Austin Stitchery Guild looks forward to welcoming all of you to Georgetown, Texas where legendary small-town Texas hospitality meets the world-class service, style and amenities of the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center for the 2021 South Central Region Seminar, Friends Threaded Together, June 1 -5.

The hotel is near “The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas.” And, it features signature Sheraton beds, park views, complimentary basic WIFI, a heated outdoor pool, naturally lit Sheraton Fitness Center, a lobby lounge, and a full-service restaurant and bar. The hotel restaurant, Brix And Ale, is a reinterpretation of the classic pub where guests can enjoy traditional food favorites with a modern twist, a state of the art wine distribution system, and an impressive collection of craft beers.

We are very excited with the options we have pulled together for Region Day. You will have the opportunity to take a shuttle and visit the lovely square in Georgetown, Texas which offers a variety of outstanding restaurants, wineries, and quality merchants. You can purchase a round trip ticket for $10 and spend the day in the heart of Georgetown.

And, for those who would prefer to stay in the comfort of the Sheraton, the hotel chef and bartender will lead small groups in creating a special Texas Bar-B-Que rub, authentic guacamole, how to pair wine and cheese and a session that demonstrate how to make your very own special mojito. There are take aways from each class! Details and associated fees can be found on the Region Day page.

Early arrivers are encouraged to participate in one or both of our mini-class sessions on Tuesday. Classes will begin on Thursday and conclude on Saturday.  We have selected a diverse group of instructors for 1, 2, or 3-day sessions.  You will be able to perfect some of the techniques that you are already familiar with or explore a new stitch or two that you have been wanting to tackle.

And, finally, this year we are adding something new, The Chairman’s Challenge. This is explained in more detail on the Chairman’s Challenge page, but the upside for those who choose to participate is an opportunity to win cold hard cash to spend at Seminar. Be sure to check out the rules and come ready to participate!

A perfect theme for what will be an amazing week! Reuniting with old friends over outstanding classes and delicious foods in the beautiful city of Georgetown, Texas! I know we are all so thankful to be able to share this time together after the 2020 pandemic. As I write this note to you all, I wonder how the events of 2020 will shape our lives and our future gatherings.

You are in for a wonderful time this week as we come together not only for the outstanding classes, delicious foods, but also to embrace new friendships, our love of stitching, and to celebrate the joy of being together again. In 2021 we only look for the positives that thread us all closer together!

This week as you and your friends are being threaded together more closely, please make the time to thank your hosts. This seminar committee and the Austin Stitchery Guild have been dedicated and gone above and beyond for three years in the planning and execution of this seminar.
