UFO: Universe of Finishing Opportunities
You all may have heard that
the SCR Seminar 2009 is going to be a different type of Seminar.
Many questions have arisen:

Will it be a stitching retreat?
-
Will it have classes?
-
Will it have all the usual shopping opportunities?
The answer is
YES, all of the above! Everything that is fun about Seminar will
remain.
How is it
different? Rather than taking home yet another UFO this year, we
will concentrate on learning the skills we need to complete the ones
we have in our stash. Your choices are:

You can spend three days with a teacher, getting the help you need to complete their piece from a previous class.
- You can spend three days
in supervised Studio Time getting help from the teacher on any piece.
- You can take from one-half
day up to three days of classes to learn finishing techniques. Learn
how to finish ornaments, boxes, stand-ups, finish linen edges by hand,
and get expert advice on framing your needleart. For any time not spent
in class, you have your place in Studio Time to work on UFO's!
- You
can spend three un-interrupted days (no cooking or cleaning!) in unsupervised
Studio Time working on that wedding/anniversary/birth sampler, Christmas
stocking, birthday present, etc. that just MUST be finished soon.
- You can learn how to care for and preserve your finished pieces at the Region Day lecture/demonstration.
This will be the first Seminar
sponsored solely by Region with no hosting chapter. The Seminar Committee,
made up of current and previous Region Board members has made every
effort to make this a more affordable Seminar so that more members may
have the "Seminar Experience."

All First Day registrants will receive a 20% discount on the $50 non-refundable registration fee.

Up to four people may share a hotel room at no extra charge over the Seminar rate.

You may experience three days of Seminar, with all its fun activities, AND have a space in General Studio Time to work on all those UFO's for the lowest Basic Registration Fee in years.

In addition, optional classes with the theme of FINISHING UFO's are offered at an additional fee of $15 per half-day class, $30 per one day class, and $90 for a three-day class.
