General Seminar Information


Proficiency Level: The standard EGA definitions are as follows:

  • Basic: No experience with the technique being taught

  • Intermediate: Knowledge of basic stitches and materials and their
    uses in the technique being taught.

  • Advanced: Ability to execute simple and difficult stitches in the
    technique and knowledge of color and design which
    will allow for exploration and creativity.

Usual stitching supplies: Anything that you might want or need for working on a piece of needlework. This might include needles, scissors, laying tool, tacks, frame weight or stand, pencil and paper for notes, additional lighting and/or magnification, and an extension cord.

Dress Code: Great News!! This entire seminar will be casual. Even the closing dinner will be a casual fun event. So, feel free to wear your "alien or out of this world" attire. There may be a wide variety of temperatures in the classroom. You may want to bring a sweater or dress in layers.


Seminar Registration is not required for the following stash enhancement activities!!

Merchandise Night: Friday, June 5, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. An array of vendors will be present with unique needlework related items. EGA members may rent a table to sell their wares. Items for sale must be needlework related or approved by the Seminar committee. Sales are not permitted in hotel or class rooms.

Opportunity Knocks: All SCR-EGA chapters are urged to take advantage of this fund raising event. The chapters will receive $1.00 for every ticket deposited in their basket. In order to avoid required IRS forms, please keep the value or your donated items to less than $600.00. Drawing will be held Saturday evening, June 13, 2009.

Seminar 2010: Registration for the 2010 seminar will be held in Dallas. Class pieces will be on display and registrations will be accepted during Seminar 2009.
